Mrs. Johns

This is my second year as the Student Learning Assistant for grades 3-5.  There are many things I enjoy about this role but at the top of the list is being able to continue to teach students that I have already built a relationship with! I am truly looking forward to my time with them! 

As the SLA at Sunrise, I will be teaching ELA and Math to students in my own classroom through the use of flexible groups. If you have any questions about an assignment or work, feel free to reach out to me at: [email protected]

 

Also, I will be available to help students through a few tutoring slots that have been built into my schedule before school (8:15-8:45) and after school (3:20-3:45).  It is my personal and professional goal to create a safe, fun, inviting, and wonderful school year for all of my students!

 

As for background information, I previously taught first grade at a private school, then took time away from teaching to raise my two sons.  I live in the district and my children attend school at Penn-Trafford.  I earned my master's degree from Seton Hill in Inclusive Education and my bachelor's degree from IUP.
