Sunrise Elementary Students Benefit from New Flexible Seating Materials

At Sunrise Elementary School, students are enjoying new classroom materials thanks to Student Learning Assistant Whitney Robosky and her successful DonorsChoose campaign.

Robosky’s project, Flex Your Seat & Fuel Your Mind, was designed to provide flexible seating options that support student learning. Through the DonorsChoose platform, the project was fully funded, allowing her classroom to receive a variety of new seating materials.

When students are comfortable, they’re more engaged, focused, and motivated to participate,” said Robosky. “Having a variety of seating options, like wave seats and comfy floor seats, helps meet the needs of all learners, from those who need movement to those who prefer a cozy, quiet corner.”

The new materials have already made a positive impact in the classroom, giving students additional opportunities to learn in ways that work best for them.
