Mrs. Linda Kelly’s first-grade students at Sunrise Elementary School celebrated Johnny Appleseed Day on September 26 with a day full of learning and fun activities.
Students explored the life of John Chapman, better known as Johnny Appleseed, learning about his love of nature and his efforts to plant apple trees across the country. They read apple-themed books, created apple-inspired art projects, and even had a chance to taste a variety of apples.
After the taste test, the students voted on their favorite type of apple.
