A group of students, staff, and parents from Sunrise Estates Elementary School formed a ‘Kids of Steel’ team and began running after school in March.

After accumulating 25 miles in training, the group traveled to the Kid's Pittsburgh Marathon in May to complete their last mile making the "marathon" of 26 miles total.  The group ran in support of the NFCA.

“It was a wonderful culminating experience in Pittsburgh where the kids and their families came together to celebrate all their hard work and training,” commented coach/teacher Mrs. Sara Oliver.
