Penn-Trafford Introduces Trap Team

Penn-Trafford School District recently debuted a new extracurricular activity for grade 6-12 students,  the Penn-Trafford Trap Team.  Led by High School teacher, Mr. Eric Crompton, the inaugural team of 24 students competes on Thursday nights at the Trafford Sportsmen's Club for a rewarding experience in trap shooting.

Under the guidance of Crompton and three additional coaches, students engage in two rounds of 25 targets each during meets, to improve their marksmanship skills in a supportive environment. The relaxed atmosphere is perfect for both seasoned shooters and beginners.

The season spans eight weeks, with two seasons offered per school year (fall and spring). As the spring season draws to a close, students have the opportunity to compete at the High School State Championship in Elysburg, PA.

“Beyond the competition, the Penn-Trafford Trap Team is a community where friendships are forged and students become part of a team,” commented Mr. Crompton.  “Whether you're aiming to improve your shooting skills or simply looking to be part of a welcoming group, our team offers a fulfilling experience for all.”
