n the days before Thanksgiving, Mrs. Shogan’s first graders at Level Green Elementary School learned about the first Thanksgiving and what life was like for the Pilgrims and Indians. They studied new vocabulary words, practiced their oral reading, and sang songs.
The lesson culminated in the performance of the Thanksgiving play, The Turkeys Go on Strike. Mrs. Shogan, commented, “It was an amazing and memorable experience for our classroom.”
