Mrs. Sara Watt has led her 4th-grade students at Sunrise Estates Elementary School on a virtual journey across the United States. Her Social Studies classes had been studying the regions of the United States. To learn more details about each region, they decided to collect postcards from each state.
“Postcards can teach a lot about places through pictures, captions, maps, charts, weather, and first-hand information,” commented Watt. The classes have already reached their year-end goal, which was to obtain a postcard from every state. “From postcards, brochures, calendars, and more, we are traveling the 50 states in the comfort of our own classroom!”
