The fourth-grade teachers of Sunrise Estates Elementary School enjoy teaching in flexible groups, which means that students move from classroom to classroom throughout the day. Mrs. Hartman, Mrs. Miller, and Mrs. Watt love using cooperative learning but needed a way to help students protect their Chromebooks from damage by dropping during the shuffle (which happened very frequently).
By working together, they were able to raise $952 through DonorsChoose, a classroom funding site for teachers, to purchase 60 neoprene laptop cases.
“We love teaching in small groups, where students can combine their strengths with their peers’ strengths to help one another learn,” said Mrs. Miller. “Being able to protect the student's device will allow for uninterrupted learning.”
